JUNE GLOOM:

There's an expression in CA, called June Gloom.  Everyday in June you wake up and the marine layer has fogged everything in but by mid-morning it's all lifted and it's another sunny day in LA.  But now, and I think for all the Junes to come, I think June Gloom will have a whole new meaning.  The gloom of this June is filled with sadness, fury and frustration.

I have found myself on CNN and social media overload and I'm tired of senseless injustice.  I have posts in my blog que but it feels so inappropriate to go back to sharing regular content at this time.  I am focused, as I hope you are, on learning, listening and reflecting on what we each can do individually to make the world a better place.

So what makes now the time that people finally came together?  I think it has to do with Covid-19.  We had things taken away from us, things we took for granted, we stayed home and had a lot of time to greet ourselves in the mirror (in sweats with no make-up) and we got to know ourselves better and figured out what's really important in life.

Maybe George Floyd is a savior, put on this earth to be the catalyst to change.  Perhaps if we all shift our consciousness we won't be so inclined to rush the rest of 2020 out the door with a swift kick in the ass.  Maybe, just maybe, the next half of 2020 will be filled with enlightenment, unity and miracles.  Maybe 2020 won't just be known as the year of Covid quarantine, but as the year that ended racism.

MOTIVATION MONDAY:

Helloooo and Happy Monday!  I know, it's not the first Monday of a month, it's the LAST MONDAY OF THE DECADE!  WOW, that's kind of epic if you ask me.  There's quite the buzz about 2020 and I feel it, do you feel it!?   It's going to be an amazing year!

I hope you've had some down time this holiday season to reflect, release the past year, and plan what's ahead.  And if you need a little jump start here are a few great quotes from Pinterest that I hope will inspire you.

Wishing you a year filled with a healthy body, a calm peaceful mind, stilettos to crush your goals, and a good pair of boots to stomp out any negativity that comes your way.  I wish you financial abundance, spiritual awareness and enough fresh healthy food to balance out a night of pizza and brownies every now and then.  I wish you contentment in your directions, confidence in all of your choices and lots of love in your heart.

Happy New Year!

MOTIVATION MONDAY: December

Helloooo!  And happy first Monday of December.  This is a great time to reflect and review 2019.  So how'd it go?  I have lots of goals that I accomplished to cross off my list and new ones to add for 2020.  It was also the year I lost my Mom.  Lots of mixed emotions, highs and lows and a recent unexpected bump in the road to remind me that breakthroughs don't happen without breakdowns.

And btw, 2020 is predicted to be an amazing year, spiritually it's an aligning year, when things fall into place.  So make that new list of all your dreams to come, write them down, and get busy.   The universe has got your back!

MOTIVATION MONDAY:

Helloooo ~ And Happy November!  Motivation Monday is back!  Can you believe it's the start of the Holiday Season!  (I know, I use an awful lot of exclamation points).

November is such a great month.  It finally got chilly enough to wear a sweater is Los Angeles.  Of course come the middle of the day we have to blast the AC at the office but we're still wearing sweaters.  And boots, I'm a boot girl, we go from sandals to boots and... usually back to sandals until about January.  The weather's fickle and Mother Natures been on a rampage around here as I'm sure you've seen on the news.  But it's November and it's time to shed, whether it's people, pounds or fill in the blank_____.  November has always been a month that signals releasing.  Let's take a lesson from the trees.

And of course it's the start of the Holiday Season.  So here's a few quotes to get you in the mood for fall.  And of course a jump start on pumpkin spice, hearty soups, roaring fires, (in fire places only please),  big cozy sweaters and warm hearts.

MOTIVATION MONDAY:

Happy Motivation Monday November! So many things to love about this month. Pumpkins, family gatherings, changing leaves, crisp air, roasting marshmallows on the fire. If only in our dreams here in 90 degree Los Angeles. But we pretend, we start wearing our sweaters and boots while cranking up the a/c.

With November being the kick off to the holidays season it's a great month to decide what you want to accomplish for the rest of 2018 and to acknowledge yourself, with gratitude, for what you have accomplished so far this year. There's an art to manifesting your goals and dreams and I think this chart spells it out brilliantly. Follow the steps and let the magic happen!
I'm thankful for you!

MOTIVATION MONDAY:

HAPPY JULY!!!  July is going to be about big changes around here so here's a little MOTIVATION MONDAY to get you (and me) going! Cheers to summer, new beginnings and sad endings, going with your gut and jumping, knowing that the net will appear.

MOTIVATION MONDAY:

Happy Motivation Monday, and Happy March!  People are talking about spring already, but here in LA it just started to get cold and crisp (50's, that's cold to me). So although March is typically the 'looking forward to warm weather month', I'm enjoying having a fire every night and sleeping in layers. I'm not ready for all these Easter displays and pastel colors! Can't we just live in the moment?!

The first Monday of the month is when I write down all the things I plan to accomplish for the month, goal, tasks, events, etc. and I look back at the previous month and see what I accomplished, (pat on the back), what I thought I would accomplish and didn't, (slap on the head, I mean let myself off the hook :) and what I'm taking with me into the new month, what ideas no longer serve me and what new things have come up to add. I know I've mentioned this before but it's actually a proven fact that when you commit your goals to paper, you're much more likely to accomplish them. I have a month filed with travel, birthday celebrations, and some fabulous projects. I hope your month is filled with what ever makes you happy and...

A March that comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb!

MOTIVATION MONDAY:

Helloooo and Happy first Monday of February!
I saw this very cute quote on social media about starting the new year on February 1st, I think they're on to something!
At the beginning of each new year I always choose a word. Something to help set my intention and to be a constant reminder, a theme, of how I want my year to feel. Sometimes it's a few words, sometimes it's complicated but this year it is simply HAPPY. Yup, that's my word, HAPPY.  I stole it from my husband, he picked it as his word first. The thing about Happiness, that most people forget, or never knew in the first place, is that Happiness is a choice. And that choice is yours, and yours alone. To be truly happy all the time means that you have to choose happiness everyday no matter what is going on around you. It means if you are having a bad day at work, you can still choose to be happy. If you didn't get something you expected, you can still choose to be happy. When we wake up tomorrow and Trump is still president, we can still choose to be happy (some happy will obviously be more challenging then others).

These little guys are worth sharing again.

MOTIVATION MONDAY:

Hellooo and happy August! And happy Motivation Monday! Feels weird that August started on a Tuesday, so yes, this is the first Monday of the month! Technically June is the half year point but for some reason August always feels more like that to me.What's your perspective? Does it feel like 'Yikes, half the year is already over and I haven't done enough?' or 'I have a whole half a year left and so much I can accomplish?'  I'm a glass is half full kinda gal. In August I like to go back to my list of goals from the beginning of the year to see what I've accomplished, where I stayed on course, where I fell off and what I want to get done in the remaining months of 2017. Here in Southern Cal summer weather can last well into October so there's no counting down the last few weeks of summer fun yet. I do however have a seasonal clock, and come August my toes start to get tired of sandals and start longing for boots again. And August starts sunflower season! Got my first bunch on Saturday at our local Farmers Market. I'll be posting about drying them for the seeds on Off The Grid In The City soon.

Make it a great day, a great week and a fabulous August. And remember to buy yourself flowers ;)

MOTIVATION MONDAY: HAPPY DECEMBER!

Hellooo December! Hard to believe that it's the last month of 2016. I have moments when it feels like it just began. I have to admit I'm having a little trouble getting in the holiday spirit. I still feel shock and anger over the Presidential election and the current climate of our country.  It may be cliche but all I wish for this holiday season is Peace On Earth, Good Will To All.

Anyone else have a lust for travel while also being a homebody? That's me, I long for adventures in foreign lands while at the same time can easily be content to spend the holidays as a cozy couch potato in front of a roaring fire.

Motivating myself into the spirit, I decided to post the top 10 Christmas Markets in Europe, this is our goal for the holidays 2017, fingers crossed!

Now get a mug of hot cocoa and enjoy :)
