NYFW:

Fall/Winter 2015/16 of New York Fashion Week has come and gone. How Sex And The City is this candid snap of Anna Wintour and Sarah Jessica Parker, front row and center for the Calvin Klein Collection. (Is she wearing pleather?)

Who doesn't love a good Calvin Klein Sheath dress? But the fact is that unless you're flat chested this collection is not for you (and definitely not for me.)

Themes for the collections were simple silhouettes, classic lines, a tailored fit and a mix of muted colors, textures and embellishments, and of course a little funkiness thrown in, after all it's the runway.

The Ralph Lauren collection, always a class act. Black is always the new black, but this grayish taupeness! It's so good for us red heads!  I love all of these looks, although I don't think I could pull off the tie.

Michael Kors (below) has taken his classic all American signature style and given it a British twist. Kind of like Hollywood Glam meets Downton Abbey. I love the combo of tailored mixed with chunky knits. But I'm saddened by the fact that the fur is real, in fact I almost didn't post them. I cannot understand how in this day and age any designer would think that is acceptable. So if you like these looks and want to create your own versions use one of the many good looking faux fur collar/scarfs out there.  I have a fab one from H & M.

I'm impressed with the shoes (that I wore in the 80's!) and how they actually look good, when lets face it, they put the frump in frumpy, but I suppose if you're a model and a zillion feet tall everything looks good.

J.Crew never disappoints with the ability to smoothly mix classic tailoring with patterns and textures.

I was seriously hard pressed to find anything truly feminine and colorful for those of you that have that style, so here's some looks from a few fashion blogger's and us regular gals on the street. It amazes me how good women can look even when they're freakn freezing!  Big A for effort!

Next up ~ March 3 - 11 it's Paris Fashion Week! I'll be there, in my mind, so let's have Macaroons ;)

TODAY OUTSIDE THE CLOSET:

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK

Yesterday was the first day of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week/Spring 2014. Just when we are all thinking of fall and boots and sweaters. (OK maybe not me, as it's 105 degrees in my backyard as I write this!) But the world of fashion, as we know, is as always one step season ahead and Springing forward. My schedule didn't have room for a trip to NY this month, although I am in desperate need of my yearly 3 must have obsessions, (see them here), I hope to make it for Fashion Week in February.  But rest assured I have my spy's out there and ready to pass on all the news.  Also I'd like to introduce you all to my new favorite morning read The Look Report. Log on every day during fashion week to catch the live feeds of the runways shows!

Day one had a little bit of everything, but thank goodness for me and my wardrobe, black and white is still kicking it! Here's three favorites from the Tadashi Shoji show.

It's gonna be a fun week!

TODAY OUTSIDE THE CLOSET:

Lots of trends came out of New York Fashion Week this February and as much as I hated to miss it, (we went in September, blogs here, here, here), I had to pass on this one due to other projects plus my fashion partner in crime was off filming a movie!  I have to say that although it was sweltering in September when we went, looking at pictures of the Plaza at Lincoln Center covered in a blanket of snow, I think we chose wisely.  But the show must go on and as my friend Tiffany, from SBT said, 'there are no snow days in fashion.' So here's how the fabulous do freezing in style.
